Watercolor appeals to me because of its unpredictability. Water and beautiful colors run together in ways that can’t be duplicated precisely or controlled. Thus, I “take what I get” and create with it. It’s fun. It’s a challenge. It’s fascinating.
I started painting in 2000 in Sacramento CA where there is a large community of artists. I learned from instructors Pat Abraham, James Estey, Woody Hanson, and Phyllis Eymann, and from my painting buddies Charlotte Richmond, Katie Fleming and Myra Steward. I have shown paintings and won awards in numerous exhibits in the Sacramento Valley.
Since moving to Eureka in December 2006 I have been involved with the welcoming enthusiastic Humboldt County community of artists of the Redwood Art Association. In 2006 I participated in the Redwood Art Association’s Member Shows at the Morris Graves Art Gallery and the Summer Small Works Exhibit. Also in 2006 Old Town Art Gallery invited me to show my art at their 2nd Annual Invitational Art Exhibit.
It is a privilege to be an artist at Old Town Art Gallery, Eureka’s oldest continuously open art gallery.
Thank you.
